Ya’ll keep me sane

I spend ridiculous amounts of time on here every day reading blogs (sorry for all those that I don’t get to) and keeping up in my select forums and messaging back and forth with buddies and I just have to tell all of you that without this place I would be going  nuts.

Yesterday was my weigh-in day with my family.  I was down 1.5 lbs.  My sister posted results on our blog along with graphs of how we are all doing.  Well she did an individualbar graph to show where we are all at in relation to our final goals.  I have made the least amount of progress according to her charts.  And it killed me.  Granted, I know I lost my first 10lbs before my family thing started so I am really further along overall and the fist 10-15 are the easiest and I am working my way through a little platuea right now.  So I know I am doing well, but it just didn’t look that way which was a little depressing.  On the onther hand my family is doing awesome.  My little brother who is in college lost 22 lbs this month.  I don’t know how you lose 20 lbs as a guy in college, but he is doing it and I am so proud of him and the rest of them.

But I couldn’t help but feel a little disheartened yesterday.  I know I work out harder and more than any of them, I have been perfect with my points and calorie intake and I was just hoping that it would show more (my family is very competitive so I really hate being in last place with all of them).

But I logged onto here and felt so much better.  I know my 1.5lbs is good, especially where my work out routine is changing and I am building a lot of muscle ( I know cause I can feel it).  I just had to remind myself of all the times I contratulated people on their 1 lb losses and take my own advice.

So just a real quick thanks to all of you for keeping me sane. :)

    STOP IT!

I am serious, STOP IT right NOW!!

Please don’t compare yourself to others, even if these others are your family. Instead bask in the glory of having the support of your family and a little “friendly” competition. How I wish I had that!

SECOND, your brother is in college, this tells me he is very young, he has two things in his favor—youth and the mere fact that he is a man…they do lose more weight in a shorter amount of time than women!

So please, STOP IT…you have lost 10 lbs. already and I commend you. I think you’re on the right track…you are a wonderful buddy and have given good advice to others, now it’s time to follow your own advice and don’t let a little competition derail you from all that which you have accomplished. The only one you should be most concerned with is YOURSELF!

Now, get on to those workouts and kick some family butt on your next weig-in….show them who is BOSS!! :)

Hey! If my 0.8 lb loss counts, than you’re doing better than me at 1.5! Keep up the great work! You’ll beat the plateau and start dropping again!

Aww! You are doing great so PLEASE dont you get discouraged! Men lose weight SOOO much more quickly than women. When my ex and I were dieting a few years ago, all he did was quit drinking sugarry drinks and no fastfood and he lost like 20 pounds in WAY less than a month. I was glad for him but wished I could have lost as fast as he did! You are doing so well and you are doing this for life — patience my buddy—you will get there! have a great weekend Elizabeth!

Don’t get discouraged, there no reason for it girl! :D Look how far you came. We all lose different, some faster, some slower and some are men ;). I don’t know what it is, but men just lose way faster then we do. I think we girls have to work 3x as hard to lose only one pound than men do. So if you add that up, that means your brother lost 7.33 in women lbs., which means that you are actually ahead of him ;)
You are doing amazing. You can be so proud of your accomplishments. Hold your head up high and smile! ((HUGS))
